Accessibility
Our commitment to making PhotoFun usable by everyone.
Our commitment
PhotoFun is committed to making our app and website accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We believe that exploration, creativity, and fun should be available to all, and we work to ensure our digital experiences meet or exceed accessibility standards.
Standards we follow
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA for our website and apply equivalent principles to our mobile app on iOS and Android.
We also follow platform-specific guidelines from Apple (Human Interface Guidelines for Accessibility) and Google (Android Accessibility Developer Guidelines).
What we've done
Website
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy
- Color contrast ratios of 4.5:1 or higher for all text
- All interactive elements are keyboard accessible with visible focus indicators
- Form inputs include associated labels
- Responsive and usable at 200% zoom
- No content relies solely on color to convey meaning
- Page language declared in HTML
Mobile app
- Screen reader support (VoiceOver on iOS, TalkBack on Android)
- Descriptive labels on all interactive elements
- Minimum touch target sizes (44pt iOS, 48dp Android)
- Text scales with system font size settings
- Dark and light appearance support
- State changes indicated by both color and icon (not color alone)
- Haptic feedback for key actions
Known limitations
We are aware of the following gaps and are actively working to address them:
- Hunt card gradients may not provide sufficient contrast with white text at all points. We are evaluating overlay improvements.
- Map screen relies on visual pin placement. A list-based alternative is planned.
- Camera screen requires visual interaction. We are exploring audio cues for users with low vision.
- Photo voting heart icons need more descriptive screen reader labels.
- Animated content is being audited for prefers-reduced-motion compliance.
