Cookie Policy
What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to control them.
The short version
PhotoFun uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or third-party marketing cookies. We do not sell cookie data to anyone. The cookies we use are limited to what's necessary to make the website work and to understand basic site traffic.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your experience. Some cookies are essential (the site won't work without them), while others are optional.
Cookies we use
| Cookie | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| __cf_bm | Essential | Cloudflare bot management. Distinguishes humans from bots to protect the site from abuse. | 30 minutes |
| __cflb | Essential | Cloudflare load balancing. Routes your request to the same server for consistent performance. | Session |
| cf_clearance | Essential | Cloudflare security challenge clearance. Set after passing a security check. | 30 minutes |
If we add analytics in the future (such as privacy-respecting analytics like Plausible or Fathom), we will update this table and notify users.
Cookies we do NOT use
- Advertising cookies. We do not serve ads and do not use ad tracking cookies.
- Third-party marketing cookies. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads, no retargeting.
- Cross-site tracking cookies. We do not track you across other websites.
- Social media cookies. We do not embed social media widgets that set tracking cookies.
- Fingerprinting. We do not use browser fingerprinting or any non-cookie tracking technology.
The mobile app
The PhotoFun mobile app does not use cookies. The app uses Firebase Authentication tokens stored securely on your device to keep you signed in, and Firestore for data storage. These are not cookies and are not shared with any third party for tracking or advertising purposes.
How to control cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all third-party cookies
- Block all cookies entirely
Note that blocking essential cookies may prevent parts of the website from functioning correctly (for example, Cloudflare security challenges may loop if their cookies are blocked).
Browser-specific instructions
- Chrome: Settings > Privacy and Security > Cookies and other site data
- Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
- Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
- Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data
Do Not Track
PhotoFun honors Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. Since we do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics that track users across sites, there is nothing to disable when a DNT signal is detected. Your browsing behavior on photofun.live is not tracked regardless of your DNT setting.
Global Privacy Control
PhotoFun recognizes and respects the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Since we do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising, a GPC signal does not change your experience, but we want you to know we support the standard.
EU and international visitors
PhotoFun only uses strictly necessary cookies that do not require consent under the EU ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC) and GDPR. If we add optional analytics cookies in the future, we will implement a consent banner for EU visitors before any non-essential cookies are set.
California visitors
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), you have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale. PhotoFun does not sell personal information, including cookie data, to any third party.
Changes to this policy
If we add new cookies or change how we use existing ones, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date. For material changes (such as adding analytics or marketing cookies), we will provide notice through a banner on the website.
